Many fans are anticipating about the announcement of DC Comics and Warner Bros to put comic book character The Flash on big screen in two forthcoming movies. There is already 2 season of The Flash which has been successful and fans were expecting more of the same.

However some of the fans were alarmed by the suggestion that one of supporting characters might be replaced for the cinema version. The full details of film’s cast are not yet announced, but a reported blog of “industry rumors” that race of one of the character may be changed.

Iris West as the love interest of The Flash played successfully by black actress Candice Patton in the TV Series could be played by a white actress Imogen Poots in the movie as the report suggests. This triggers some of the fans to react and began accusing Warner Bros of “whitewashing” and posting hashtag “Keep Iris Black”. The phrase has now appeared more than 7,000 times.
