The Japan’s Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko are set to make a five day stay in the Philippine and a goodwill visit for the 60th anniversary of the relationship builld of the two nation’s consular ties.
Stated in the A Japen Bullet in one of the article published December 4, 2015 that the emperor and the empress will go here on January 26. Just as what the Japan Government had said, this is the first official visit of the Japanese Emperor to the Philippines. The couple last visited the Philippines in 1962 when they were then Japan’s Crown Prince and Princess.
The royal couple are expected to offer a wreath at the Rizal Monument in Rizal Park and will pay a tribute to the Japanese soldiers who died in the world war II at the called Japanese Garden along in the Lake Caliraya in Laguna.
According to Malacañang Palace, the Imperial couple’s state visit is in response to President Benigno Aquino’s long-standing invitation to visit the Philippines.
