The Presidential Candidate Mayor Rodrigo Duterte stated he is ready and willing to withdraw from the presidential race when Vatican demand and say Pope Francis was offended by his ‘cursing’ during his proclamation rally speech last November 30.
Duterte is now under observant with lots of people over his profanity-laden remarks when he cursed at the Pontiff while highlighting his disappointment with the traffic during the Papal visit in January when he got stuck at the airport.
Stating, “If Pope says he was hurt, then go ahead, and I will withdraw tomorrow,”
The Archbishop Socrates Villegas of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) and Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Emeritus Oscar Cruz had already talked and stated about the language of Duterte. For cursing the Pope and they had remind voters.
Quoting here is what Duterte say, “I would address myself to the highest hierarchy of the Roman Catholic Church. If you think I have offended — which, in the first place, I never really meant to do it — if you cannot forgive me, the hierarchy or the Vatican, just tell me: ‘We are offended and we demand that you withdraw from the presidential contest.’ And I will tomorrow withdraw. There is no problem in that,”
Duterte is determined and Is Willing To Withdraw From The Race If Pope Is Offended By His Remark
