Rhap Salazar’s tweet regarding non-singers who lip-sync and have hit albums made waves on social media and stirred debate among showbiz personalities.
Legit singers and musicians gave their take on the issue. Gary Valenciano, Lea Salonga, Erik Santos and Angeline Quinto are to name some. Even Lea’s brother Gerard Salonga and King of Talk and celebrity manager Boy Abunda commented on the issue.
Vice Ganda and Anne Curtis, dubbed as non-singers were also asked for reactions and both shared to be unaffected by the issue.
Curtis said that she does not lip-sync on her performances and have proven it once again on her It’s Showtime performance last July 18, where she sang ‘Bad Blood’ by Taylor Swift. The 30-year-old actress-turned-singer reiterates that she performs to entertain her fans.
After the show, Curtis tweeted “Wooohooo! I survived!!! #BadBlood #NoLipsyncing #ParaSaEkonomiya”.
Surprisingly, Salazar retweeted Curtis and posted “I love you, @annecurtissmith.”
Is this the end of ‘legit singer’ and ‘non singer’ issue?
Thoughts anyone?
