Announcement! There were 36 passengers were confirmed dead after a motorized boat, M/V Kim Nirvana capsized off Ormoc City, a kilometer away from the pier on Thursday, July 2,2015.
The MBCA Kim-Nirvana with 173 passengers, 15 crew and the boat’s owner on board, capsized at 12:50 p.m. According to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported that the incident occurred on Thursday afternoon, they also confirmed that a total of 118 passengers were rescued while 21 others are still missing.

Search and rescue operations are still on going. The Philippine Red Cross Chairman Gordon told CNN that those who have survived are being taken to hospitals in the area around Ormoc. The Netizens posted some photos on social media after the report capsizing of a boat.
Captain Pedro Tinampay said that PCG commander in Eastern Visayas told the boat was not overloaded as it could accommodate a total of 178 passengers. The ferry had left port too quickly and people stood up, throwing the boat off balance.
