Graff Diamonds is officially released the image of a new statement diamond to add to what is a very long list of diamonds that are among the largest and rarest in the world, according to their official site of Graff Diamonds.
It is being called “The Golden Empress” that have a 132.55-carat Fancy Intense cushion-cut yellow diamond. It is a rarer to find one particular color, such as this yellow diamond. There is only one in 10, 000 diamonds discovered are classified as fancy colored.
The founder of the international luxury diamond and jewelry firm who named Laurence Graff purchased the 299-carat rough diamond that created “The Golden Empress”. It was found from the Letšeng mine in the southern African kingdom of Lesotho.
According to Graff, ““The potential to craft a diamond that could join its hall of noble, historic and world famous stones was a thrilling prospect”, he stated.
Recently, a 14.49-carat yellow diamond on a ring by Graff sold for $293,000, at Christie’s Important Jewels auction, last Tuesday, June 16, 2015.
