At the recently concluded MMFF 2014 Awards Night held at PICC last Saturday December 27, 2014. Two acclaim top class movie entry dominates the event namely Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo a biopic chronicles showing the life and struggle of Andres Bonifacio starring Robin Padilla and Vina Morales and the romantic comedy film entitled “English Only Please” starring Derek Ramsey and Jennylyn Mercado.
The hero biopic film almost garnered 5 major awards namely Best Picture, Best Musical Scorer, Best Theme song, Best Cinematographer and Best Sound Engineer. Also received 3 special awards namely Best Float, Youth’s Choice and Gatpuno Antonio Villegas Cultural Award.
The Best Director award goes to English Only Please Dan Villegas naming also the lead stars Derek Ramsey and Jennylyn Mercado as Best Actor and Best Actress respectively. The romantic comedy movie also bags 2nd Best Picture, Best Original Story, Best Editor and Best Screenplay.
Meanwhile the top 4 earners of MMFF “Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles 2” named as the 3rd Best Picture and other six special and major awards as grabbing the Best Supporting Roles compliments of Lotlot De Leon and Mr. Joey Marquez.
“The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin” “Feng Shui 2” despite being included in the list of top grosser movie of MMFF 2014 failed to bag a single award during the event along side with “Magnum Muslim .347” and “Shake Rattle & Roll 14”.
Vic Sotto’s “My Big Bossing” only snatched the Best Child Performer Award
