Interior Secretary Manuel Roxas II is making rounds in social media following after motorcycle mishap while he was inspecting damages caused by the Typhoon Ruby (Hagupit) in the areas of Taft, Samar Island.

A photo of Secretary Mar Roxas was first appeared on the Twitter page of Rappler showing the Interior Secretary Roxas fall over the red XRM Honda motorcycle wearing denim pants with yellow raincoat, no helmet but a baseball cap.

Mixed reactions from the netizens flooded following the incident. Among the hundreds of thousands netizens commenting Roxas was Bayan Muna representative Teddy Casino who says, “Lesson for the day: Huwag mag motor pag may bagyo. At saka magsuot ng helmet.”

Another reaction from the netizen Dax Lucas (@daxlucas) making fun of DILG Mar Roxas calling him “casualty of Typhoon Ruby.”

Despite of mix reactions bashing the incident involving the Sec. Mar Roxas, here comes the comments from Jeff Crisostomo (@jeffcrisostomo), tweeted saying, “Some people are jeering at Sec. Mar Roxas after falling from a motorcycle while performing his duties. Ill-timed political immaturity.”

Another concerned person, Inday Espina Varona (‏@indayevarona) said: “Don’t jeer at Mar Roxas. But must note that people get arrested for riding bikes without helmets.”

However, Deputy Spokes Person Abigail Valte issued official statement defending Secretary Mar Roxas, stressing the reason why Sec. Mar Roxas was a riding motorcycle.

“Hindi ho lahat ng daan ay passable sa mga sasakyan. Nakita po natin ‘yung sitwasyon doon. Maraming mga nakabuwal na puno, maraming mga nakaharang po sa daan,” Valte said at a press briefing in Malacañang on Monday, December 08, 2014. And according to Valte, Sec. Mar Roxas was not hurt during the said accident.
