Basketball legend Avelino Lim or popularly known as “Samboy Lim” collapsed and rushed to a hospital unconscious just a few minutes after a friendly game held at the Ynares Center in Pasig City late afternoon of November 28, 2014.

According to fellow PBA player Nelson Asaytono, Lim was playing about six-minute during the first quarter of the game together with selected fellow legends against the Resorts World team. Lim was then pulled out by the legendary coach Bogs Adornado and he immediately proceeded to the sideline area of the court and performed basic stretching and there he was found collapsed and unconscious.

The 53-year-old PBA legend dubbed as “Skywalker” was then rushed to the nearby Medical Center of the city. Upon writing, Lim in the hospital attended by one of his best friend and longtime teammate former MVP star player Allan Caidic.

Soon after the incident, fellow players took his Instagram account and tweeted about the incident, with the hastag #prayersforsamboy. It was then flooded with comments from fans supporters of the PBA legend expressing concern to the one of the most-loved heroes of the pro league.
