Hong Kong protesters proved themselves that love is more powerful than the existing violence clashes and flying bullets in the midst of crisis.
The 22-year-old university student Yau Chi-hang kneel down his one knee before the crowd of protesters on the main street of Mongkok shopping district in Hong Kong to demonstrate his marriage proposal to his girlfriend Crystal Chan, 21-year-old who is also a pro-democracy protesters at the same university on Sunday morning, October 5, 2014.
The happy bride-to-be Crystal Chan was seen wearing a plastic cape to protect against tear gas replied saying, YES! Followed immediately with yelling and loud applause from the crowd of protesters.
Yau Chi-hang said, “I’ve been up all night. To begin with, I had been thinking of proposing on the 21st. but then he said, he saw there’s so many people here, so why not do it today… so that everyone ca be a witness to our love.”
