Actress Erich Gonzales clarifies the circulating rumored that she initially refused to be part of the upcoming series “Two Wives.”
In an interview during the press conference of the series debut, Gonzales explained the real story on how the rumored was started. She said that it was not actually she refused the offer but she said it was only happened that she was set to go to Europe for a much-deserved break when the offer was finally made up. And she added that her plan of going to Europe was finalized two years ago. It’s not actually that she will refuse the offer. As a matter of fact, Gonzales said she was thankful for the project was given to her by the ABS-CBN management.
“Hindi po tinanggihan. Kasi nung time na in-offer sa akin ito, nung pinresent sa akin ‘yung story, eh aalis po ako patungong Europe eh matagal ng na plano ‘yon, two years ago pa. So sabi ko parang malabo kasi magi-start na daw po. Eh sabi ko, ‘Two years nang naplano ‘yung Europe.’ It’s not that tatanggi ako sa work, ‘yun lang parang ang bilis ng pangyayari. Sabi ko kung para sa akin ito (para sa akin),” Gonzales said.
The 24-year-old Cebuana born actress recalled it was ABS-CBN president and chief executive officer Charo Santos-Concio who officially told her that management wanted her to take the role of Janine, the mistress of the “Two Wives.” Gonzales did not hesitate to accept the offer, knowing that the shooting will start after she arrives from vacation.
“Siyempre ako, gusto ko lang naman na magtrabaho, so sino ba ako para tumanggi. So tamang tama, they told me na ‘sige pagkauwi mo from your break sisimulan na natin, hihintayin ka namin,” she said.
The actress got excited of taking her role in the series after learning how the mistress turned into a legal wife and the legal wife became a mistress. This is how interesting is the story with the guidance of the director, surely everyone will like it and that is how the audiences will love to follow the story, the actress said.
“It’s very challenging kasi siyempre iba din ‘yung ‘pag gagawa ka ng character na walang kahit katiting na pagkakapareha sa totoong ikaw. Pero with the guidance of our director, ‘yung buong creative team, nabigyan ng linaw kung saan patungo ang story talaga,” she said.
“Dito sobrang nagustuhan ko kasi ang twist ng kwento na ‘yung tunay na asawa naging mistress at mistress naging tunay na asawa at kung paano ‘yun mangyayari, ‘yun ang dapat nilang panoorin,” she said.
