Daniel Caluag First Filipino Gold Medalist In Incheon 2014 Asian Games

Daniel Caluag a professional BMX rider and a official representative of the Philippines for Incheon 2014 Asian Games held at South Korea grabs the first ever gold medal in the field of bike racing.

Daniel-Caluag-500x348The Fil-Am athlete also representated the country at 2012 London Olympics wherein he set a record for finshing the lap of the race track in just 35.489 seconds which is the best among the delegates of other country in the Asian games in the sports of BMX racing.

The professional athlete snacth the gold medal this Wednesday October 1, 2014. The silver medal goes to the Japanese biker named Masahiro Sampei and the bronze medal was grabbed by Young Kim.

Meanwhile his younger sibling Christopher John Caluag finished the race at 37.005 second almost 2 seconds short from his gold medalist brtoher.
The location of the BMX racing is at Ganghwa Asiad BMX track, which is estimated 52 kilometers aways from the delegates village. The track takes a lot of biking experience to finish because of its oval shape and sometimes hard to turn which requires more balance and speed control.

Previous achievement of Caluag was he was qualified in the Olympics last 2014 but was eleminated in the disqualifying heats

As of now the Philippines medal tally was (1) Gold , (2) Silvers and (3) Bronze Medal.
