The controversial audio circulated online involving actor Daniel Padilla that goes viral since the voice recorded of the actor was uploaded on the no.1 video sharing website YouTube. Since then, fans and followers of the ‘Teen King’ were interested of knowing who is the man behind and responsible of leaking the controversial audio clip on the internet.

In a live interview on Friday, September 26, 2014 on “Aquino & Abunda Tonight” Karla Estrada, mother of the actor revealed that his son Daniel knows the man responsible of recording the audio conversation and uploaded on YouTube. It seems she could not believe that the person recorded the private conversation was just his friend for a long time he knows for more than five years.

Estrada, explained that the controversial audio clip was the first serious controversy of the actor and it was used against him to hit his showbiz career.

“Nakakatakot. Imagine, pinasok ka sa bahay mo ng gano’n,” Estrada said. “Hindi ito close friend, pero kaibigan niya ‘to [nang matagal na]. He’s older than DJ (Padilla).”

According to Daniel’s mom, her son opted not to confront him for that reason and refused to mention the name of the culprit in order for them to easily move on from the controversy.

“Si DJ, hindi siya gano’n, kasi nasasaktan siya. Hindi niya kayang harapin,” she said. “Ako, hindi ko na kinonfront, kasi baka maging octopus ako.”

When asked how they proved that Daniel’s friend was the one responsible of recording private conversation, Estrada continued saying “one of his friend pointed the same person.” It was obvious because he was the only one holding cellphone while they were conversing each other, she said.

“Tinanong ko ‘yung isang kaibigan na nandodoon na kasama nila sa pag-uusap. Siya ang tinuturo ng lahat kasi siya lang ang may hawak ng cellphone habang nag-uusap sila,” she said.

On the other hand, Estrada also said that the culprit, denied that he uploaded the 90-second audio clip online for a certain purpose.

“Sabi ko, ‘Ano’ng motibo niya?’ Hindi raw nagsasabi. At dini-deny niya na ginawa niya daw ‘yon. Parang may something lang daw doon sa telefono niya na biglang nag-upload,” she said.

“Siyempre wala nang lusot ‘yung tao.”

Estrada respected the opinion of his son and respected him when he refuse to reveal the identity of the culprit. However, she said “only at this time.”

“Ayaw na actually palalimin pa ni DJ, ano, kasi para sa kanya, ‘Kung kailangan ko matuto sa ganitong paraan, okay ako, natuto ako.'”

“Ako, mas gusto kong palawigin ito, ano, pero kung kinatatakot ni DJ ito, rerespetuhin ko siya dito sa unang pagkakataon. Pero sa susunod, hindi ko na siya pakikinggan,” she said.

Estrada also shared how his son coop up with the controversy. She said by narrating Padilla’s earlier statement that the controversy does not only strengthened him and make him more mature of handling personal situations and aside from that he also said he learned from it as well. In addition, the actor said that the controversy also reminds himself that other people have worse problems to confront than his.

Regarding his rumoured girlfriend, Kathryn Bernardo who was indirectly affected and saddened of the controversy, Daniel said he and Bernardo have patched things up already.
