Former contra Vida actress Katrina Halili is now questioning the decision of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) regarding the reinstatement of the medical license of Hayden Kho after it was revoked in connection with their controversial disgraceful video in 2009.

Katrina Halili & Hayden KhoAccording to Atty. Raymond Palad, the decision of the PRC is premature in the grounds that suspension should be at least two-year time before a former doctor whose license was revoked can file for a petition of reinstatement of his license.

Atty. Palad clarifies that the Court of Appeals (CA) finalized its decision on July 26, 2012, so it is presumed that the waiting period of two-year will last until July 26, 2014. After the two-year waiting time will lapse, thats the only time Kho can file his petition for reinstatement of his license.

“Sa Philippine Medical Act, nakalagay doon ang provision na after two years of revocation, yung PRC pwedeng ibalik yung lisensya ng isang doktor. Kasi yung decision ng PRC, chinallenge niya yan sa Court of Appeals, nilabanan niya yan,” Palad said.

Atty. Palad added that the Court of Appeal issued the PRC to revoke the medical license of Kho on July 26, 2012. According to Atty. Palad they received Certificate of Finality from the CA and Kho did not appeal against the said finality of decision from the CA.

December 2013 nagfa-file na sila ng petition for reinstatement, one year and a half pa lang yun,” he said.

Although they plan to appeal the recent decision of the PRC, Palad clarified that this is not anymore against Kho but against the practice of the PRC granting the reinstatement of the license of Kho, he said.
