Embattled actress/ex-wife Claudine Barretto claimed that her marriage with the actor Raymart Santiago was a fake in which the two were having two kids, Sabina, 10, and Santino, 6.

The new revelations of the multi-awarded film and television actress surprised the television viewers and media men.

According to the entertainment publication Inquirer.net quoting a taped television interview with “Buzz ng Bayan” of ABS-CBN on Sunday, Barretto told Boy Abunda that her marriage with Santiago was a fake.

“I regret na pinakasalan ko si Raymart … It was fake… I should have backed out, we were living in sin pala,”the actress said.

As to remember, Barretto and Santiago got married twice, a civil rite in 2014 held in Isabela and the second wedding was a Christian ceremony that took place on March 27, 2006 in Tagaytay City.

However, the legal counsel of Claudine Barretto denied her claims saying that even though the registration of their marriage came late but it was absolutely not a fake.

The couple was having a trouble in their marriage life since 2011 but it becomes worse in 2013 following the allegations of domestic abuse on the part of Santiago.

On the other hand, Barretto claimed that she has been from a medical checkup and diagnosed with “battered wife syndrome” and she also denied the rumors that she has “mental illness” as what was being repeatedly mentioned in the reports.

“I am going through difficult times…there are a lot of lies and a lot of deceits,” Barretto said in Filipino.

“They say that I am not fit as a mother but my children are doing well in school.”
