Boracay Island, Philippines, the world-renowned island in the country captured another title and now presently holding the newest Guinness World Record as the “Longest Massage Chain” in the world with at least 1,600 masseuse participants joining in the said event.
Boracay’s “Longest Massage Chain” broke the previous Guinness World Record title of Thailand which has a total of 1,223 masseuse participants.
The world record attempt for the Longest Massage Chain in Boracay took place at the beach-front in the white sand beach of the island on Friday, May 16, 2014. The world record event was witnessed by thousands of people including domestic and foreign tourists, media men, local government officers and the Department of Health (DOH).
According to Malay Town Tourism Officer, Felix Delos Santos, he said that there were around 2,000 masseuses expressed their interest of joining the world record attempt, but the event organizers have set a limit of participating masseuses in the since that there was no enough space at the beach-front that can accommodate them all the reason that there were only 1,600 registered participant allowed for the said world record attempt.
The “Longest Massage Chain” started at 6:30 a.m. to complete the registration process of at least 1,600 participants and at the time of 8:30 a.m. the world record officially begun. The Longest Massage Chain situated at the beach-front that reaches from Station 1 up to Station 3 in the white sand beach of Boracay Island.
The DOH said they still yet to endorse the Boracay’s “Longest Massage Chain” world record attempt to the Guinness World of Record for acknowledgement and official declaration.
Boracay’s “Longest Massage Chain is an additional title to the many recognition achieved by the island of Boracay.
