Sam Concepcion finally broke silence on Thursday, April 10, 2014 about his encounter with “Dyesebel” actress Anne Curtis, the older sister of his rumored girlfriend, Jasmine, during a party at an upscale bar in Makati City.

The 21-year-old singer-dancer and actor told reporters shortly after a press conference for his new endorsement, Chef’s Noodles, that he and Anne talked during the birthday celebration of the comedian “It’s Showtime” host Vice Ganda’s last March 31.

“We did see each other and we did talk,” Concepcion said. “Of course, I understand where she’s coming from. I understand what she’s saying. I understand that… kasi katulad din, gano’n, if I had a little sister, siyempre I will look out for my sister. Siyempre all of that has valid reasons.”

The incident report was published first at the celebrity website Philippine Entertainment Portal on April 1 quoting the source who was also a guest at the celebration whose name was not mentioned but revealed the details of incident during the party.

PEP quoted the source that Anne Curtis drank at the party, and she approached Sam Concepcion telling him: “Why are you here? Who invited you? You are not classy enough to be here!”

The report added that Anne Curtis allegedly went on to ask Concepcion: “Ba’t mo niloloko ang kapatid ko?”

Following after the report Anne Curtis took her Instagram account to clarify the issue, admitting that she and Sam Concepcion were talking each other during the birthday celebration but denied she said those words mentioned in the article published by the PEP.com.

The singer-actor also admitted that he was surprised when “It’s Showtime” co-host Anne Curtis approached him, “Siyempre, opo, it was a surprise. Wala naman po sa aming ini-expect na… It was a surprise.”

“But ‘yun nga, she has her reasons, whatever reason. Siyempre, family po ‘yun ni Jasmine, e, so maiintindihan ko po. And I really respect her. I respect Anne, I respect her family,” he said.

Asked if he felt “humiliated” by Anne which seems to be drunk the time she spoke with him, “Hindi ko alam. Kasi minsan mahirap… malilito ka na rin sa mga nangyayari. Tsaka sa daming lumalabas… So totoo lang po, I’m really overwhelmed by all of this,” he said.

“Ako po kasi, I’m very understanding of people,” he added, when asked if how he felt when Anne talked to him. “Parang wala rin kasi akong space to feel that way (humiliated) kasi I’m really doing it for Jas. And siyempre I will go through whatever for her.”

Concepcion shared that he has made his best effort to reach the “Dyesebel” star to clarify things, “Siyempre, as the guy — I’m the one courting Jas, ako ‘yung nanliligaw, ‘di ba — whatever the situation, it’s always the guy who has to make an effort. Iyon talaga ‘yung stand ko, so siyempre, like I said, gagawin ko naman po lahat for Jasmine.”

“The important part is we’re okay. Okay po kami ni Anne, ni Jasmine,” Concepcion said, adding he remains in good terms with Jasmine’s other family members, including mom Carmencita, he said.
