Journey Lead Vocalist Arnel Pineda opens up about his fight against asthma. In his statement regarding his condition in first he got depressed because his illness can threaten his job as a performer especially his passion for singing.

In an interview in “Umagang Kay Ganda”, Pineda shares his struggle how to conquer  asthma.

He said if you have asthma you cannot really prolong your singing because you will get tired easily and he is really determined to find a solution regarding this matter.

The singer was also amenable that before seeking professional help he first decided to self medicate himself, but it turns out bad because his condition does not change at all. When he eventually part of the band then he decided to ask the doctor how to manage his current condition.

Also insufficiency of fund is also a contributing factor why Arnel decided to medicate his body naturally.

Even now his struggles are still on but before he performs in stage he has a routine to manage asthma and his medicine is always ready if something bad happens.

Pineda also encourages singers that have the condition as him to be not discouraged with their current condition instead to be positive and seek also a professional help.

He added that there are so many professional doctors that are willing to help and the medicines now are affordable.

The singer only leaves a message that do not let your sickness dominate your dreams instead do not be afraid to take risk and never quit.
