“Starting Over Again” earned Php20 Million in box office during the first day of nationwide showing which premiered on February 12, 2014.
Lead star Toni Gonzaga revealed the partial and unofficial earnings of their romantic-comedy hit movie on Wednesday, during the ABS-CBN’s evening program “Aquino & Abunda Tonight.”
The potential earnings of “Starting Over Again” movie that earned more than Php20 million during the first day showing is being compared to Kim Chiu and Xian Lim’s “Bride for Rent” which earned approximately Php21.2 million on the first day of showing. KimXi’s Bride for Rent is still on theater in some selected cinemas until today, and according to the recent box office tally, since the time the room-com movie started on theater last January, presently it marks on the box office income of more than Php325 million in 24-day showing nationwide as of February 7, 2014.
On Wednesday episode of “Aquino & Abunda Tonight” lead actress Toni Gonzaga became emotional as she shared the success of the featured film.
“Starting Over Again” is the latest movie produced by Star Cinema as part of its 20th anniversary. Staring Piolo Pascual and Toni Gonzaga with Iza Calzado, under the direction of the award-winning director, Olivia M. Lamasan, written by Carmi Raymundo.
The main thought of the movie tells the story of a college professor name Marco (portrayed by Piolo Pascual), who turned chef and fall in love with one of his student, Ginny (portrayed by Toni Gonzaga). But along the way of their romantic story, Ginny left Marco without reasonable cause. Years passed by, Marco found new love with Patty (portrayed by Iza Calzado).
