The Charity Worldwide Walk of Iglesia Ni Cristo held on Saturday, February 15, 2015 in multiple venues from different countries all over the world earned a new Guinness World of Record with more than 175,000 participants.

The charity walk held by the second largest religious denominations of the country broke the record set by Singapore’s walk for a cause dubbed as “The New Paper Big Walk” that attended with more than 77,500 participants sometime on May 2000.

The primary purpose of the charity walk of Iglesia Ni Cristo is to raise funds to help the typhoon Yolanda survivors in diverse provinces in Visayas regions.

Most of the participants joining the charity walk are members of Iglesia Ni Cristo church and every participating member are required to wear a special t-shirt that worth 250 pesos or equivalent $5.60 during the charity walk which was held in the streets of Manila. Proceeds from the sales will be donated to the typhoon Yolanda survivors.

Guinness Book of Records representative Kirstie Bennet, announces that the Worldwide Walk of Iglesia Ni Cristo is now hold the new Guinness World of Record.
