The Low Pressure Area (LPA) has a big possibility to develop into Tropical Cyclone in the next 24-hour and to affect Eastern Visayas and CARAGA Region. The said Low Pressure Area could bring a flash floods and landslides to the most affected areas, PAGASA confirmed.
According to the latest weather forecast of PAGASA, Samuel Duran, the weather forecaster told ABS-CBN News that the Low Pressure Area lingering east of Mindanao is expected to intensify into a Tropical Depression this coming Thursday or Friday.
PAGASA weather forecaster Samuel Duran added that when the Low Pressure Area will be developed into a tropical depression this will be the first Cyclone of the year 2014 and will be named “Agaton.”
According to PAGASA weather bulletin update at 5:00 a.m. January 16, 2014, the Low Pressure Area remains at the sea and expected to land anew as tropical depression.
