Pagpag is one of the eight official movie entries in Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2013 which gross earning reaches more than P23.7 million during the opening day on December 25 Metro Manila Film Festival for this year 2013.
Pagpag which described as “Siyam na Buhay” is the latest film of the teenage celebrity love team Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo. The main thought of the movie is more about horror but perfectly blended with suspense and comedy that thrills the fans of the matinee idol Daniel Padilla and drama actress Kathryn Bernardo.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, celebrity love team has expressed their gratefulness with regards to the result of the movie in the box office record during the opening day of the MMFF 2013.
Kathryn Bernardo said that the most important part is to learn a lesson from the movie because the movie if a perfect combination of several concepts.
“Importante na may matututunan kayo sa movie na ito. Horror siya na comedy na suspense, lahat na. Okay siya panoorin ngayong Pasko, para exciting,” she said.
The 17-year-old admitted that the success of the movie cannot be attained without the help of the leading role played by his love team Daniel Padilla. And according to the celebrity love team, the accomplishment of the movie is being indebted to the entire casts that toiled for success of the movie and especially to the directors.
“Sa totoo lang, ngayon lang namin nakita ‘yung buo na maayos na lahat. Masaya ako na napanood ko siya. Hindi ko ine-expect na [ganito ang final output]. Gusto ko i-congratulate din ‘yung mga directors namin kasi sila talaga ‘yung nakipagpuyatan, and yung sa mga effects,” she said.
However, the 18-year-old matinee actor was very thankful to all his devoted fans and followers who have supported to watch their movie.
According to the latest update upon writing, the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), reported that the movie “Pagpag” ranked third during the screening based on ticket sold on the MMFF Opening Day on December 25, 2013.
In the Twitter account of Star Cinema Roxy Liquigan, Pagpag’s said Pagpag earning reach more than P23.6 million during the opening day which is a record breaking compared to some other leading horror movies in the country such as Dalaw that earned P12.4 million and Segunda Mano earned P18.5 million, both movies featured Kris Aquino.
The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has released the ranking and tentative gross income in which according to the organizers a 12 percent higher compared to the first day income last year.
