Leyte 4th District Representative Lucy Torres-Gomes revealed the cause of relief operation delay in the province of Leyte. In this video interview with ANC anchor Karen Davila to Congresswoman Lucy Torres-Gomez, the Congresswoman described the scenario what was happening during actual distribution of relief goods to the victim survivors in the 4th District especially in Ormoc City.
The cause of delay in distribution of relief goods to the victim’s survivors is the unfair treatment of the Local Government Unit (LGU) which is influenced by the politicians, the Congresswoman said.
In her statement she mentioned that the voter’s list is the basis of distribution of relief goods instead of counting the number of households actually affected by the typhoon Yolanda, regardless if the victim is a registered voters in the place or not, he/she is entitled to receive relief goods. This is one of the actual happening in Ormoc City during the distribution of relief goods that the Congresswoman wanted to brought out the matter to the public.
