Seven long year of engagement, finally Chanda Romero, the once-elusive bachelorette married Jose Mari “Mayi” Alejandrino under the civil rights in Cebu City.

On November 21 executive editor Pete Lacaba of Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) was surprised after knowing through YES magazine that Chanda Romero has already tied a knot. [See the attached pictures of Chanda and Mayi].

The wedding was held on October 25, 2013 at Casino Español de Cebu. Ceremony was officiated by Cebu City Mayor Mike Rama who has the power to pronounce “husband and wife.”

The multi-awarded actress who was recently seen in the hit teleserye of GMA Network “My Husband’s Lover” sent a text message to Pete revealing about the plan of getting married as to surprise gift to her mom on her 80th birthday.

On October 25, Chanda requested immediate family to come to Casino Español de Cebu where Mass and Mom’s birthday dinner was to be held earlier at 6p.m. then followed the civil rites.

Necessary paper documents were prepared already several days ago, with the help of friend who will also officiating the civil rites, told Chanda to Pete.

Previously, sometime in May 17 in Teirra de Maria Chapel in Tagaytay, Chanda and Mayi made their vows in a commitment ceremony showing to the public about their dedication to one another, but there was no legality associated the ceremony.
