After the issues and speculations came out about that the Miss Universe crown is taxable,finally Pia Wurtzbach defend itself. On her part,she said that even before she’s paying her taxes according to her income when she was an actress before,as Binibini and,now as a Miss Universe.”I pay my taxes when I was with ABS-CBN… as an actress; when I was with Binibini, so I’ll continue on doing that as long as I’m earning money here, like everybody else,” she said.

It was started when issues about Pia’s tax duties cropped up after BIR Commissioner Kim Henares, in a recent interview, mentioned that the former is not exempted.

But Pia defended it because she said that the crown was not hers and she will turn over it next year. The said crown will be the same crown they will be using for 10 years.
