Catriona Gray talked candidly about her split from Sam Milby. For four years, the ex-couple was together.
Catriona discussed the reasons behind the breakup of their relationship in an interview with Karen Davila. “It was really hurtful for me and I was really caught off guard at that point in our relationship when I think he just realized that he wasn’t ready to take it to the stage of commitment that we thought we were on because he had proposed. Then, a few months later, he realized that hindi pala siya ready,” she disclosed.
She first attempted to make the relationship work, as the 2018 Miss Universe noted.
Catriona acknowledged that ending that relationship was a really tough choice.
In the end, she understood how crucial it was to be with someone who shared her outlook on the future.
The breakup “shattered” Catriona, she acknowledged. “And to navigate that publicly was really hard too because I don’t want to talk about it [in public] kasi ang sakit niya eh,” she stressed.
Catriona emphasized today that her emotional state had improved.
Does she still have hope for love? “I definitely believe in love. I think if you have a bad experience with a guy or two, you shouldn’t allow that to reframe or change how you see love. Because I think love is beautiful. And I feel like God’s will for us is to find someone to be married with and to have love with. And so, if it’s not yet good, God’s not yet finished,” she stated.
Then Catriona understood she had to make her own decision.
Sam acknowledged in an interview in February 2025 that they are no longer a couple.
When Catriona posted in 2024, astute internet users observed that she was not wearing her engagement ring.
After dating for three years, they became engaged in 2023.
