MANILA — Strong Group Athletics has acquired top spiker Ara Galang from the now-defunct Chery Tiggo Crossovers, adding another formidable asset.
She will either play for Farm Fresh or Zus Coffee, depending on the needs of the two teams, according to the SGA management’s announcement on Thursday.
She went to the SGA nest with Mylene Paat, who joined the group on Wednesday.
Galang and Paat led the team to runners-up place in the 2025 PVL on Tour, fourth place in the 2025 Invitational, and 10th place in the 2025 Reinforced before the Crossovers said goodbye to the league.
Paat received an MVP nomination and a Best Opposite Spiker citation with Chery Tiggo, while Galang was named Best Opposite Spiker.
Former Creamline Cool Smasher and multi-time PVL champion Ara Galang has officially found a new home, with Strong Group Athletics (SGA) announcing that it has acquired the veteran spiker’s services ahead of its upcoming campaigns.
Strong Group confirmed the signing on Tuesday, welcoming Galang—one of the most decorated and recognizable players in Philippine volleyball—into its growing roster.
Galang, a former Ateneo Lady Eagle, built a storied professional career with Creamline, where she won multiple PVL championships and earned several individual accolades. Known for her clutch scoring, court awareness, and defensive reliability, she has long been considered one of the league’s premier open spikers.
Her move marks one of the biggest roster developments of the offseason, as Strong Group continues to position itself as a serious contender in both local and international competitions.
Strong Group has been actively building a competitive lineup, recruiting top local talents and overseas Filipino players as it eyes deeper runs in invitationals and potential international tournaments.
Team insiders say Galang’s arrival is expected to bolster not only their scoring depth but also their locker-room leadership, particularly for younger players transitioning into higher-pressure roles.
Galang is expected to begin training with the team immediately, with her debut possibly coming in Strong Group’s next scheduled tournament appearance. Fans are already anticipating how her high-energy style and veteran poise will blend with SGA’s fast-developing core.
With this acquisition, Strong Group sends a clear message: the club is serious about contending—and Ara Galang is set to be a central figure in that pursuit.
