I take it that the dog won’t die?
The first teaser trailer for “Supergirl,” the first extension of DC Studios’ Superman universe, was released on Thursday night. Milly Alcock plays Kara Zor-El, also known as Supergirl.
In the new amazing adventure, which is based on the graphic novel by Tom King and Bilquis Evely, Kara Zor-El is pursuing the red sun for her 23rd birthday binge when a cunning new foe appears too close to home.
A Kryptonian, a dog, and an alien female must now team up on a cosmic revenge mission that will pit them against the scum of the planets as well as a nasty bastich from the planet Czarnia.

The movie, which was directed by Craig Gillespie, also features Jason Momoa, David Krumholtz, Eve Ridley, Matthias Schoenaerts, and Emily Beecham.
On June 24, 2026, “Supergirl” premieres in Philippine cinemas.
The picture immediately sticks out for its stylistic conviction as part of the new DC Studios slate directed by James Gunn and Peter Safran. The trailer seems to support Gunn’s description of this Supergirl as “much more hardcore” and “raised on a rock in space watching everyone she loved die.”
The rebellious tone of the images—grainy textures, frantic camera movement, and Kara’s feral, even anarchic attitude—as well as the music contribute to the punk-rock branding.
Supergirl is being positioned by DC as a counterculture superhero, which stands in stark contrast to the conventional, polished image of Superman, according to industry analysts.
Some noted that the creative team looks willing to take chances, drawing comparisons between the trailer’s style and that of “Mad Max: Fury Road,” “Logan,” and even early 2000s underground punk aesthetics.
Expectations are rising rapidly that Supergirl might emerge as one of DC’s most notable characters in the revived cinematic universe due to the overwhelming response to its trailer.
