MANILA — During a fight between two groups in Tondo, Manila, a guy was stabbed and is now in critical condition.
Barangay 201 officials claim that groups of people between the ages of 14 and 15 who were taking part in a procession got into a fight on Monday night.
The stabbing at the intersection of Limay and Hermosa Streets in Barangays 201 and 202 was caught on camera.
According to CCTV evidence, the procession began on Limay Street and culminated with a stabbing after a dispute broke out in front of a convenience shop on Hermosa Street.
The victim was only trying to break up the altercation when the kid stabbed him, according to the police report. While the victim was taken to the hospital and is presently being monitored, the suspect managed to get away.
“Medyo hindi pa masyadong okay [ang kondisyon]. Critical pero under observation pa rin,” said Winifredo Sebastian, chairperson of Barangay.
Another woman was stabbed twice, but her condition is stable.
The two groups have a long-standing conflict that started at school, according to barangay officials.
Manila Police District Station 7 is currently holding the three minor suspects.
Sebastian says that the parents voluntarily gave up their children.
To ascertain the complete circumstances of the tragedy and the accountability of individuals involved, the police investigation is still underway.
Barangay officials, meanwhile, have urged parents to help children stay away from violence.
Emergency responders arrived shortly after and brought the victim to a nearby hospital where he is being treated in the intensive care unit.
Police have launched an investigation and are currently reviewing CCTV footage and interviewing witnesses to identify and apprehend the suspect.
This incident has raised concerns over public safety in the area, with local residents calling for increased police presence and community vigilance to prevent similar tragedies.
No arrests have been made yet, and authorities are continuing their efforts to locate the attacker.
