Given that everyone is interchangeable in the entertainment industry, it is commendable that certain local celebrities have also succeeded as business owners.

Numerous factors, such as their names, product quality, and buzz, contribute to their successful businesses. One thing, nevertheless, they share in common is their willingness to take risks.

As cliché as it may sound, taking risks in business may have a huge impact. It’s a component of the whole trip.

During his recent contract signing with GSC Inc., a business processing and consulting firm, David Licauco spoke briefly about how taking chances has aided in his development as an entrepreneur.

“Kapag nagsisimula kang magnegosyo, you just wanna take risks. Kailangan mong tumalon para malaman what’s out there. Pero mas maganda kung calculated risks,” said Licauco.

In addition to taking chances, Licauco said that it needs a village to succeed in business.

“Nag-start din talaga ako sa negosyo ko na ako lang talaga. From scratch talaga. Siguro iniisip nung iba na may partner ako pero actually wala. Ako lang talaga,” he said.

He added, “Kailangan mong humingi ng tulong. Admittedly, akala ko nung una, kaya ko. ‘Yun pala, kailangan ko rin ng tulong.”

The actor-entrepreneur, who is growing his firm, acknowledged that he continues to strive for daily learning, just like the majority of prosperous business owners.

Fortunately, he has recovered from business losses.

In response to his Anak TV award, Licauco said, “To be given that award means you’re doing something good, you’re able to inspire the youth.” I believe that “yun naman ang bigger meaning ng pagiging isang celebrity.” It’s not only about being famous. Money isn’t the only factor. It’s about motivating young people.
