On Monday morning, thousands of Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) members who had spent the night in Manila’s Quirino Grandstand got ready for the second day of the group’s three-day rally calling for government transparency.

Participants set up camp before dawn for the morning program, filling the Quirino Grandstand grounds with tents, sleeping mats, and temporary rest spaces.

In order to ensure space and fully engage in the day’s festivities, families, youth groups, and elder members—many of whom come from neighboring provinces—said that staying overnight was essential.

Throughout the day, crowds kept growing, and organizers anticipated that even more people from Metro Manila districts and surrounding areas would attend the rally’s second day of events.

On Sunday night, November 17, long lines formed at the restrooms inside the Quirino Grandstand as the area’s public facilities were heavily utilized.

Additionally, a number of people claimed that the portable restrooms positioned around the perimeter had started to overflow.

Vendors taking advantage of the constant stream of customers were among those who stayed overnight on the premises.

Business has been steady since yesterday, according to Renz Danao, an INC member from Tondo who also assisted his parents in selling food and beverages at the event.

Many attendees said they were willing to camp out again to complete the full three-day demonstration.

Church organizers set up designated areas for food distribution, hydration, and medical assistance, while volunteers guided elderly members to shaded rest zones.

The INC said it expects similar turnout for the third and final day on Tuesday, with more members planning to travel to Manila to join the concluding program. Government agencies have advised commuters to plan their routes accordingly and expect intermittent congestion around the rally site.

Officials also reminded attendees to follow safety guidelines, noting that the large gathering is expected to remain peaceful.
