Pia Wurtzbach, Miss Universe 2015, has issued an apology to Ricky Lee following an incident on September 14 at the Manila International Book Fair when the national artist was inadvertently pushed by her security personnel.

As captured in a video by ABS-CBN News, the incident unfolded as Pia Wurtzbach was in the midst of extending greetings and shaking hands with the esteemed writer Ricky Lee, only to have one of her vigilant bodyguards inadvertently intervene and separate them.

This incident transpired as the beauty queen was making her way toward the stage for the launch of her book titled “Queen of the Universe: A Novel: Love, Truth, Beauty.”

During the “Today’s Talk” segment of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Wednesday, Boy Abunda revealed that Pia had made contact with the national artist.

“Nag-reach out na si Pia, even if it was not Pia’s fault, to apologize, to say sorry na nangyari ito,” the Asia’s King of Talk said. “Naayos na ito pero leksyon po sa atin, dahil importante na tinatrato natin [ng maayos] ang number one, seniors. Number two, this was a book fair, this was a cultural event,” Boy added.
