Just in the Morning, October 9, 2022, Former senator Leila de Lima survived a hostage-taking inside the Camp Crame Custodial Center in Quezon City, the Philippine National Police announced on Sunday morning, October 9, 2022.

According to Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Rodolfo Azurin Jr. the incident occurred at around 6:30 in the morning at the PNP Custodial Center inside Camp Crame when the said policeman was going to give food to the inmates. The police officer was killed with an improvised knife by three prisoners.

Marcos Jr announces to the public he will personally ask former senator De Lima if she is okay and if she wishes to be transferred to a safer detention facility outside PNP’s Camp Crame.

Azurin assured that the policemen prevented the said incident and immediately brought the injured policeman to the hospital, and he is now in critical condition.

The PNP chief added that the suspects intended to run away but were neutralized by the police.
