There are still people who believe Joem Bascon has a similar appearance to Piolo Pascual.
Actually, when Joem first entered the entertainment industry, many people noticed that his looks resembled that of Piolo, who was quite popular at the time.
When others tell him that they can play Papa P’s siblings, he is ashamed, but he eventually gets used to it and grows proud of it.
At the press briefing for ABS-upcoming CBN’s drama series, “Flower of Evil,” Joem was asked how he felt about working with Piolo again.
“Masaya, I mean ilang years na rin ako sa showbiz, nandito pa rin ako kahit na nandyan pa rin ‘yung sinasabing kamukha (ko si Piolo) basta gawa lang nang gawa ng trabaho, kasi hindi naman matatapos ‘yun e,” the actor said at the statement.
Meryll Soriano’s live-in partner claimed that throughout her 17 years in entertainment, Piolo is one of her genuine friends since he supported her even when she was just starting out.
“17 years, and I am happy because Piolo was one of the first people I worked with when I started so, getting here that I can work with him, be friends, be friends, I am very happy, because you know that at the end of the day, no matter what we do on the set, we are still like this, we are still ugly,” the actor said.
Meanwhile, he is grateful to ABS-CBN for having trusted him and offered him fantastic projects, like “Flower of Evil.”
He also stated that he does not select the project. He has no difficulty if he understands he will be pushed in the job that will be assigned to him and he wants to work with artists.
“Sa akin kasi noong nag-start ako, after kong gumawa ng pelikula, gusto kong maging actor and I wanted to do different roles, I wanted to learn different characters, different personalities, ganu’n nga e ‘yung trabaho namin,” Joem explained.
“Hindi ka natitigil sa isang character lang after ng isang karakter mo, gagawa at gagawa ka pa ng iba, kundi man buhay ng tao, bagong karakter ng tao,” the actor continued.
“Hindi siya choice para malayo doon sa news or sa sa mga nagsasabi na kamukha ko si Piolo, it’s more of a gusto ko lang umarte talaga.” “Same as always but different,” Joem added.
“Flower of Evil” is available on the digital streaming service Viu App as well as numerous ABS-CBN digital platforms. Lovi Poe, JC Santos, Denise Laurel, Joross Gamboa, Agot Isidro, and many more are also included.
