Pastor Apollo Quiboloy of Davao City gained deity status when he began teaching his followers that he is the “appointed son of god” – a claim that allowed him to build a multimillion-peso home and headquarters in Davao City from which he issues religious decrees and propagates some of the most unorthodox doctrines and unchallenged narratives. According to Pastor Danilo Gomera, president of the Zamboanga Peninsula Ministers’ Association, Quiboloy’s declaration that he is the “chosen Son of God” is “not a sound doctrine” for a Christian organisation.

Pastor Apollo Carreon Quiboloy, the founder of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), has declared himself to be the “Modern Joseph.” Following the election in the United States, a controversial pastor compared himself to the biblical figure Joseph. For human trafficking and other offenses, it was added to the FBI’s most-wanted list. According to him, he sees himself as a modern-day Joseph.

He went on to say that before the Lord can fulfill his promises to him, he must first pass the test he is currently enduring. The divisive pastor has declared that he is God’s chosen son and that he manages the world’s buttons.

“Bago matupad ang ipinangako ng ama sa akin, ang lahat ng ito ay dadaanan ng anak. Anong pinagdaanan ni Moses? Hinabol siya ng taga Ehipto, pati army hinabol siya. Hindi niya alam ang gagawin,” he stated.

“Pero pag nasa kamay ng Diyos ang isang tao. Do not underestimate, because miracles and miracles will take place. Ayaw kong mangyari yan sa humahabol sa akin. Satanas, bumagsak niya. Habol kasi siya ng habol eh… Makikilala ba si PACQ (Pastor Quiboloy) kung walang tribulations?” he added.
