According to authorities, an anti-drug operation in Mandaue City, Cebu, on Saturday evening resulted in the killing of one suspect and the seizure of P6.8 million worth of suspected shabu. Jomar Espinoza, 27, was identified as the suspect by the Philippine National Police (PNP) in a statement.

According to PNP Chief Police General Dionardo Carlos, Espinoza and his unknown companion fired at the officers on the scene of the Mandaue City Police Office’s City Drug Enforcement Unit, leading the officials to respond.

According to the PNP, Espinoza was gravely injured and taken to Eversley Child Sanitarium, but the physician proclaimed him dead upon arrival. On a motorcycle, the unnamed group was able to flee. The authorities are currently investigating the incident and have begun a manhunt to find him.
