Enchong Dee agreed to surrender to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and posted bail in connection with a P1-billion cyber-libel complaint brought against him by Claudine Bautista-Lim of the Drivers United for Mass Progress and Equal Rights (DUMPER) party list.
According to sources, Dee surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation in Quezon City yesterday, Jan. 31, after officials failed to serve his arrest warrant at his reported residence in Cubao, Quezon City, on Wednesday, Jan. 26. According to locals, the actor has not been seen in the region in a long time, and the home is just for leasing.
According to Dee’s now-deleted tweet dated Aug. 14, 2021, Bautista filed a complaint against Dee after he reportedly claimed that the money used for her “opulent” wedding in July of last year came from the party list’s budget. According to a resolution dated Nov. 16, Bautista also filed a case against celebrities Ogie Diaz, Agot Isidro, and Pokwang (Marietta Subong-O’Brian), who all shared their thoughts regarding Bautista’s wedding, but only Dee was charged.
Dee was apparently imprisoned for a period of time after posting bail outside of the bureau’s business hours. He was let go about 9 p.m. His paperwork were processed yesterday.
As of this writing, Dee and his crew have yet to offer a remark on the topic. Meanwhile, as seen on his Instagram story yesterday, the actor looked to bond with his pet dog while watching a movie.
