MANILA, Philippines — On Tuesday, the Golden State Warriors hammered the Detroit Pistons 102-86 at the Chase Center in San Francisco to get back on track (Wednesday, Manila time).
With 21 points on 6-of-13 shooting, Klay Thompson, who had only played five games this season, led all scorers for Golden State.
In the decisive win, Andrew Wiggins and Steph Curry each scored 19 and 18 points, respectively.
Except for when Detroit scored the game’s first basket, a 2-0 lead, the Warriors nearly never trailed in the contest.
In the second quarter, the Warriors blasted the game wide open with a 33-16 run to lead by as many as 34 points in the opener of a seven-game homestand.
Jonathan Kuminga, a rookie with the Warriors, had his first career double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
With 19 points, Rodney McGruder led the Pistons.
Cade Cunningham, the No. 1 overall choice last year, was held to just eight points and a -20 +/- in the loss.
