According to the victim, he caught a fish when a shark suddenly bit him as he was lying in the hospital. The victim lost his hand after he was bitten by a large shark while fishing in Ilocos Sur.
“Kinukuha ko na yung nahuli kong blue marlin nang biglang sinakmal ng pating ang kamay ko,” he stated.
He was bitten by a black shark as the size of his boat. According to the fishermen, sharks are not uncommon near their bayaws or rama. A bayaw is used for fishing and sits in the water attached to a floater with leaves, and the fish eat the leaves as they swim by.
However, Unabia still had the courage to return to the sea to earn a living. At the same time, people slaughtered a large shark caught off the coast of Santiago, Ilocos Sur and the victim are still healing at the hospital.
