Comedians Long Mejia, Dagul, and Gene Padilla plans to declare by Ilocos Sur Governor as “Persona Non-Grata” for Violating Quarantine Guidelines
Ilocos Sur Governor Ryan Singson is planning to declare the three comedians, Long Mejia, Dagul, and Gene Padilla as “Persona Non-Grata”.
Singson recommends to Sanggunian Panlalawigan of Ilocos Sur to declare the comedians for allegedly violating the quarantine protocols in the province.
He condemns the three comedians for their irresponsible act amid the coronavirus pandemic. Wherein they refused to undergo quarantine checkpoints, which is a part of safety measures against COVID-19.
According to Singson, they had evaded the checkpoint personnel, which is an act of arrogance and impoliteness against the authorities. He also said that he will not tolerate the irresponsible acts of the three.
Persona Non-Grata is a person so declared is considered unacceptable and is usually recalled to his or her home nation. If not recalled, the receiving state “may refuse to recognize the person concerned as a member of the mission”. As of wiki, a person can be declared a persona non grata before that person even enters the country.
However, the comedians refused to give a statement regarding the incident and what they are doing in the province of Ilocos Sur that had happened on July 10, 2020 on a last Saturday evening.
