Karen Reyes, 23 years old, is a former Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) participant. She was the second biggest placer teen edition 4, way back 2012 together with Myrtle Sarrosa, Kit Thompson, Joj at Jai Agpangan, Tom Doromal, and Yves Flores.
Karen revealed that she is a mother of two, Olivia, who is two years old and Lucas, who is a nine-month-old baby. She finally announced it yesterday, May 10, on Mother’s day, which can be seen on her YouTube channel.
“Ako po ay ganap nang isang mommy.” she said. On her video, Karen got emotional while telling her story. She stated that she got pregnant on 2016 while working on the film “My Ex and Whys”, starring Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil.
“And yun, first baby ko si Olivia, ginagawa ko yung Ex and Whys. Ginagawa ko yung buong movie na iyon, natapos ko siya.” Karen said.
“Actually, nakapag-presscon pa ako noon nung fifth month ko yata iyon, second quarter [ng pregnancy].” she added.
Karen Reyes said that she was afraid of the judgement and was thinking whether she could still pursue showbiz. “Natakot ako kaya hindi ko nasabi agad. Natakot ako dahil hindi ko alam kung tatanggapin pa ako ng mga tao, kung may babalikan pa ako sa showbiz.”
She also admitted that she kept her pregnancy from her mother, Claire Reyes. “Expected naman din na magbubuntis ako, kaya lang hindi ko alam na ganun pala siya kahirap for me, dahil unang-una, tinago ko yung pregnancy ko, unang-una sa nanay ko. Wala talaga akong makausap, wala akong masabihan ng nararamdaan ko, puwera na lang sa ate ko at best friend ko.”
She gave birth to her first child, Olivia, on June 16, 2017 and on July 28, 2019, she gave birth to Lucas, her second child.
According to her, she said that the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) made her realize a lot of things. “Siguro na-realize ko lang na bakit kailangan ko pang matakot, andito na yung lakas ko, nandinto na yung mga nagpapalakas sa akin. Natatakot kasi ako noon na may mga judgment.”
Now that her secret is out to the public, Karen Reyes is proud of her children as a mom.
