LTO (Land Transportation Office) stops operation of vans which serves as a mode of transportation for call center agents received criticism in social media.
In a post by a concern netizen he expressed his disgust towards the agency for uncosiderate considering the fact that this is the time of crisis and if they will stop the operations of the vans how can they go to their respective workplace.
Also Bacolod City Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran express his dissappointment towards HPG and LTO personnel saying
LTO,HPG paano nag Colorum ang mga Van kay gin rent na sang BPO companies and they do not cater to the general public. Pa lakton nyo ang BPO employees? Explain nyo na sa office ko.
(LTO how can you consider a van who is privately rented by BPO companies and they do not operate as public mode of transportation, Do you intend to let call center agents to walk up to their workplace? Kindly explain your point to my office.)
LTO released a statement that those vans needs a permit issued by LTFRB to continue their operation, if they will be caught they will pay a penalty of 200k php.
Hopefully this issue will be resolved soon because our BPO agents is the losing party here because despite of crisis they continue to work for the sake of the country economy and serve as also a frontliner.
