We cannot deny the fact that the world is now in the state of emergency as WHO (World Health Organization) declared recently.

The said virus also infested many countries around the world that kills many and infected thousand people in different races.

The question now is how the effectiveness of face masks to counter this deadly virus.

Recently the DOH announced that there is one infected patient of this deadly pathogen in a 38 years old Chinese woman from Wuhan which has a travel history from ground zero to Hongkong and arrived here in the country last January 21, 2020.

The Chinese Woman arrived here at first had no signs of this disease but following days passed she was positive with corona virus.

Let us go back to face mask.

According to Under Sec. Eric Domingo “The surgical masks can be used by the public in certain occasions. Not everybody needs to wear a mask every time. Unless for of course you feel you are high risk for illness,”

This mask can be use if you are under a public place and it is not necessary to wear a mask anytime unless you know you are in danger of being infected by the disease, for example there is a sick person beside and is coughing and sneezing, it is an immediate precaution to wear as mask for your own protection.

Sec.Domingo added wearing face mask is not a guarantee that you will not be infected by the disease unless you observe proper hand washing of your bare hands to avoid the disease.

The DOH Sec. quoted this is the best way to avoid this killer disease and must not rely on face mask only.
