PBA decided to fine San Miguel Beermen forward Arwind Santos the amount of 200k for his racism act toward TNT import Terrence Jones.
During the 2nd Quarter of game 5 the Beermen forward was spotted portraying a monkey gestures towards Jones.
According to PBA commissioner Willie Marcial, PBA organization will not let this action come to pass and summoned Santos to conduct a 100 hour community service and engage in a counseling with regards to equality and racial discrimination.
Marcial noted “The league that not allows those kind of actions especially on basketball, if any player will repeat what Santos did they will expect a much higher disciplinary actions and monetary fines”. He added as an official in this league he express his sincere apology to the TNT import and to his family, the PBA is open to all black or white no racism is allowed.
It is remembered that Jones reacted that Santos actions is not acceptable and offensive on his side.
Terrence noted that he is here to play basketball to show his talent and skills not to receive any insult from his co-player in the league.
Santos is expected to release a statement of apology this week.
