Officials of the government known to be Negros Occidental Representative Albee Benitez, Representative Celso Lobregat and Mayor Beng Climaco, together with their staffs and other officials, were hurt after the bridge collapsed.

This incident occurred while they were conducting an inspection of a housing project in Brgy. Rio Hondo, Zamboanga City.

According to the chairman of the House Committee on Housing and Urban Development, Mr. Albee Benitez.

“The lack of maintenance in constructing the bridge and houses are very dangerous for the residents, especially to the children”.

Mr. Galo Glino III, while interviewed through phone said that the some of the lawyers and mayor were slightly wounded and they will continue investigating regarding the incident.

“The incident was an eye-opener, proves that there was really a problem there’s a substandard quality on the housing projects here in Zamboanga. That is continuous” he added.

This incident caused a great inconvenience to the residents, government will take action on what happened and would repair the bridge.
