It was early friday, September 25, Ex Palawan Governor Joel Reyes is companion by Police at the NAIA. Former Governor Joel Reyes, has asked the anti-graft court Sadiganbayan to command the jail watcher to allow him to attend the hearing for his case which is graft case, this case has connection with the mining permit he issued in 2008. Former Palawan Provincial Mining Regulatory Board Secretariat head Andronico Baguyo and Joel Reyes, are accused of allowing permits to a small-scale mining firm in 2008 illegally, disregard report of the firm’s over extracting and the use of heavy equipment. Anyway,Joel Reyes is currently detained at the Puerto Princesa city Jail together with his brother, former Coron Mayor Mario Reyes.

The two are the primary suspects in the murder of broadcaster and environmentalist Gerry Ortega in January 2011, because he is the one who exposed the corruption in Palawan. It’s more than three years ,when the brothers are Hiding and in March 2012,they flying out of the country but in September, they were arrested by Thai Authorities at a resort in Phuket Thailand.
