The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration “PAGASA” reported that a Blue Moon will see on Friday, July 31, 2015. “The Blue Moon was defined as the second of two full moons occurring in the same month, they stated that the Filipino public can witness the event at around 6:45 PM on Friday, July 31, 2015”, according to PAGASA.
The country’s weather bureau also stated that this month have the same two full moons, which appeared last July 2, 2015 while the others is expected on July 31, 2015, however, they clarified that a “blue moon” has nothing to do with the physical color of the moon.
In report, the literal blue-colored moon may occur in certain atmospheric conditions such as volcanic eruptions and exceptionally large fires that emit particles reaction in the atmosphere.
PAGASA also announce that the stargazers may also enjoy to watch in Southern Delta Aquarids meteor shower that will be best viewed on July 31, 2015.
So when the phrase “once in a blue moon” was coined, it meant something so rare you’d be lucky (or unlucky) to see in your lifetime, according to NASA’s National Space Science Data Center.
