The Ceres Bus Liner is one of the most dominant bus company in Visayas that owned by Vallacar Transit. In report, fellow Ceres Bus collided along a national highway in Enrique B. Magalona (Saravia) town in Negros Occidental on Wednesday morning July 22, 2015.
In the interview to Senior Inspector Conrado Rances (EB Magalona Town Police Chief) confirmed that at least 4 people died during the accident while 46 others were injured in a collision between two Ceres Buses.
The two (2) fatalities were identified as Ronnie Javarro, 25, fare collector of the bus bound for Bacolod, and Nemia Paceno, 19, a pharmacy student, while the 2 others are not yet identified since their faces were deformed, according to Senior Insp. Conrado Rances III.
Those injured were brought to the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City, and Our Lady of Mercy Specialty Hospital, and Dortor’s Hospital in Bacolod City.
The driver of Ceres Bus 5126 bound for Escalante City from Bacolod City, executed an overtake on the right side of a vehicle he was tailing but did not have enough space, prompting him to return to his lane but lost controls, according to the witness.
Siocon and his fare collector Shabiros Cuervo are now detained at the EB Magalona Police Station and face charges for reckless imprudence resulting to multiple homicide and multiple physical injuries.
It was said that there were several vehicular accidents have taken place at the national highway in Barangay Santo Niño and the nearby Barangay San Jose in EB Magalona. The residents call it “mariit (a place of dangerous enchantment)” and a killer highway.
