ABS-CBN recently issued an apology to MTRCB (Movie and Television Review and Classification Board) with regards to specific “Pangako Sayo” scene expressing vulgar words about s3x and women.
According to the board there is a specific act which includes Eduardo Buenavista (Ian Veneracion) and Benita Buenavista (Pilar Pilapil) saying “Kung pampalipas libog lang iyan, that’s okay. Go ahead!” this refers to having a s3xual relationship with a certain girl in the serye.
MTRBC reacted stating that this word does not fit for the younger age, but in exception for adult viewers, wherein they urged that the words should be chosen roughly to avoid bad ideas for the young television viewers.
They added that the serye had been rated PG wherein it is expected that the viewers includes 13 years old , in contrast to rated SPG which urged that younger viewers should be guided by adult for more clarification to avoid misconception to the scene.
Prior to there resolution they summoned the ABS-CBN executives to discuss the said event and talk about the networks commitment to exert efforts on the ground of self regulation and restraint.
According to Chairman Villareal the said incident hopefully will serve as a lesson and a warning that every serye aired in various stations should consider their viewers and must be very on their scripts.
The station promise the board that this will not happen again and thanked for the viewers for the support to the serye despite what happened.
