Darren Espanto’s father, Lyndon Espanto explained on his Instagram account why his son was not able to thank music producer and composer Vehnee Saturno when he received his album’s gold record award last Sunday, May 24 on ASAP. Vehnee composed “In Love Ako Sa’yo,” Darren’s album carrier single, as well as three other songs.

Darren’s father posted a screen capture of Vehnee’s Facebook posts where he said, “Nakakatuwa naman si Darren, nag receive ng GOLD RECORD award from MCA, lahat pinasalamatan niya, AKO kinalimutan. MCA didn’t bother to advise Darren to recognize me as the writer and producer of ‘IN LOVE AKO SA’YO’. NAKAKALUNGKOT NAMAN. Ibang klase si NEIL GREGORIO. KARMA NA LANG” and then said in his next post, “Darrenatics, it’s not Darren’s fault, I will correct it. It’s MCA Music. Salamat.

He then wrote on the caption, “Let me make this clear po to everyone and I am hoping na sana hwag naman po husgahan ang bata. Hindi po nakalimutan ni Darren na pasalamatan si Mr Saturno. Ang totoo po nyan kasama po sya sa napakahabang listahan na gusto pasalamatan ni D pero nagkaroon po ng briefing bago prod number nya. sinabihan po sya kung ano lang dapat nya sabihin. wala po kaming kakayahan na baguhin po ito at lalong wala kami magagawa kundi sundin kung ano lang ang instruction na ibinigay nila kay D. Sana malinaw na po ito sa lahat. Salamat!” 

The multi awarded composer wrote and produced three other songs for Darren’s album.
